Journalism should provide vital roles within a community, fundamental for achieving adequate and accurate, well-balanced and fair understanding of the various issues, events and conceptions which comprise community identity and evolution. It is thus an art of key importance for best developing community character and destiny, its competent practice serving as credible venue for local news, opinion and discourse.

Yolo Sun operates as an effort to fulfill this vision of the crucial value of good journalism within Yolo County in general and Woodland, its County Seat, in particular.

(- In interest of fair political disclosure: Yolo Sun is operated by Bobby Harris, a candidate for Woodland City Council, District Two, at the General Election on November 8, 2016. -)
